As we head into 2020 and move into yet another decade, we naturally look back at the last decade and reminisce on what we've done, how we've changed and where we are today. We take a nostalgic look back at the past decade and at the same time, glance with hope into what the decade ahead may have in store for us.

In-home family photography sessions are my all-time favourite. Not only do we capture beautiful photos of your kiddos and family, but we’re creating real-life memories. The photos that we create will tell the story of what everyday life was like for your family at this particular time. That lounge chair where you use to cuddle your babies on those long nights….

Lifelong memories are so often hidden in the seemingly mundane little moments. What was supposed to be just baking cookies to give to the neighbours, can unknowingly become a special moment of bonding, laughter and silliness that you look back on in the years to come with a feeling of warmth in your heart….

Spring has to be my favourite time of year - especially in the Hawkesbury. The days are warmer, the evenings are longer and you just want to head outdoors and feel that warm sun on your face. It’s a time of year synonymous with new life and there are just so many great ways to shake off the winter blues, have some family fun AND capture some memories that last a lifetime.

This past Mother’s Day, I had the honour of photographing lots of beautiful mum’s with their beloved babies - babies both big and small. I just love that these mummas see the value in both themselves and the relationship they have with their children enough to have it documented for posterity.

There's no better way to get authentic expressions and natural family photos that by simply having fun! And what better way to have fun than to chase bubbles and eat donuts for breakfast. 

I love when I'm asked to create, not only some beautiful family portraits but a time capsule of a very special relationship. Taking what is most treasured and loved and freezing time so it can be savoured and enjoyed forever.

There is such a special vibe when capturing Autumn family photos in Sydney. The mornings are crisp, the sunshine is warm and the colours are amazing. The Ranson family were so fun to hang out with and I'm truly honoured to have the opportunity to create memories for them of this time in their lives.

I first met and photographed the wonderful Bennett family when big brother Flynn turned one, and then again when little Jett was born. Now that little Jett has turned one, it was time for some updated family photos to add to their story.

Now that the cookies are in the oven (see the photos here if you missed it), it's time to head outside and create some family photos.

Recently I photographed the Celar family for the third time over the past six years. I just love seeing the kids grow up over the years, but no matter how much has changed with this family, one thing is constant.

At the end of last year, I had my ‘Celebrating Families Christmas Giveaway’ and I put a call out for people to nominate a family that inspired them and who could use a little extra joy at Christmas.

I love photographing the Storey family (this session is our fifth!), but these beach family photos were extra special. You see Owen is in the Navy and he was being deployed overseas for 9 months. I can't even imagine!

I first met the Storey Family at Jemima's first birthday cake smash photo session, and 4 photoshoots later, here we are at little Bethany's first birthday cake smash.

I might be biased, but I think we live in the prettiest place right here in the Hawkesbury Valley. And when clients request to have their family photos taken on their family's farm, I secretly do a little happy dance!

Maternity photos are my favourite. They capture a unique and fleeting time when emotions are bubbling over and a new chapter of family life is about to begin.

how do you get teen boys excited about getting their photos taken? Easy - plan a fun session at a location where they love to hang out, letting them be adventurous and daring and feeling like the king of the world.

One of the biggest privileges of my job as a family photographer in Sydney is being invited to spend the day with a beautiful family like the Allens, and being witness to their everyday rituals, routines and all-time favourite things to do.
