What to Expect

Here’s just a little summary of how I work and what you can expect along the way…

Your Session Fee

Your session fee includes 3 appointments in total:

  • a pre-session consultation to plan out all the details of your session, discuss the types of products you might be interested in purchasing, and provide you with an upfront pricing estimate

  • your family photo session

  • one ordering appointment to view the photos and make your purchases.

The Session Fee does not include any prints or digital files. These can be purchased at your ordering appointment.

Ordering Appointment

One ordering appointment is included in your session fee. The ordering appointment is held at my home in Richmond and is where you will see the photos for the first time, choose your favourite photos, and place your order. Accepted payment methods are bank transfer, cash, or credit card (+2.2% processing fee). Interest free payment plans are also available on purchases over $1,000.

If an ordering appointment is canceled or rescheduled within 8 hours of the agreed time, or if an additional ordering appointment is requested, a booking fee of $75 will apply to book another ordering appointment, which will be applied as credit towards your purchases.


Cancellations & Reschedules

The Session Fee is non-refundable. If the session is cancelled, the session fee will be forfeited and will not be refunded. As a mum I know that unavoidable circumstances pop up every now and then, so sessions may be rescheduled up to two times if need be, before another session fee will be required. Please give me as much notice as you can if you’d like to reschedule. Also, not showing at the agreed location and time will be considered to be a cancellation, and another session fee will be required to book another session time.

Weather

Due to the nature of photographing outdoors, we will be reliant on the weather for both the actual shoot and the look and style of the resulting photos. The shoot will go ahead under most weather conditions, except for rain. I'll keep an eye on the weather and if there is a high chance of rain for your session day we can reschedule to a more suitable day. If there is a low-mid chance of rain, we can stick to our plans and see what the weather actually looks like a couple of hours before your shoot. I find that a day forecasted to be rainy often turns out fine. No matter what the weather, I'll be in contact with you in the lead up to your session.

Refund Policy

As we’ll be designing and creating custom art pieces for you, no refunds will be permitted once I have delivered your digital files.

If you have conerns about your finished artwork, please let me know and I’ll gladly replace it for you.


Editing

Your photos will be given a ‘light’ edit, which includes enhancements to exposure, contrast, saturation, hue and sharpness. Any pieces of wall art ordered through me will have extra editing and image manipulation applied to make it ‘print-ready’. If you’d like extra editing or image manipulation applied to other photos, please request a quotation for this additional work.

Photo Curation

Even thought you’ll see me take literally hundreds of photos at your session, it’s my job to curate the photos for you and show you only the photos that I feel best caputre your family.

Image Copyright

As the creator of the image and artistic work, the copyright in and to the images from your session will remain with me. Any portion of the work delivered is for your personal use only and cannot be sold or used for commercial/business purposes without my prior written consent.

Your use of the images

Feel free to use, share and print the images for personal use only. To help prevent online image theft, please use only the watermarked images in the folder titled ‘Web Use’ when publishing images from this session on any online website or social media forum.

To maintain the integrity of my copyrighted work, please do not change, crop, edit or apply filters to the images from this session IN ANY WAY.


My use of the images

To help me grow my business, I would love to be able to share the images from your session on my website and social media platforms to help others decide if I’m the right photographer for them. If you prefer that I don’t share the images from your session online, please let me know via email.

Retention of images

I will keep copies of the images from your session for a period of 3 months from the session date, and any images that you purchase at your order appointment for a period of 12 months following the session date. After this time I may dispose of the images at any time if I need to. I recommend that you make 3 additional backup copies of your purchased photographs for safe-keeping (1. on computer hard drive, 2. on a separate removable storage device, 3. on offsite cloud storage).


What if I get sick?

If I, Janelle, become unwell or incapacitated for any reason and cannot attend your session, the session will be rescheduled at no penalty to you. If there is no opportunity to reschedule, all monies paid to date will be fully refunded.
