Family Christmas Photos

Annual photos are such a wonderful marker of time. Children and parents alike love to look back and see the changes year-to-year. Christmas is a time full of gatherings, holidays, and break from school or work and therefore often becomes a natural time for photos to be taken that mark the passing year. However, Christmas photos can often descend into a crazy rush (and not the good kind) at a local shopping mall, long lines and staged poses in front of a white backdrop or Santa set. Christmas memories should be fun, personal and focused on your family’s story. They should celebrate who each member of your family is, keeping family connection as the focus.

The Kourey family wanted fun Christmas photos of the kids to share with family and friends, and also to give as gifts. They took the opportunity to update their family photos at the same time with some natural portraits in this beautiful outdoor shoot.

After our ‘family photos’ the kids did a quick wardrobe change for some Christmas photos. The family wanted some fun photos of the children to give as gifts to loved ones at Christmas, but they didn’t want Santa photos, or anything too staged. The focus was family fun and the beautiful essence of their growing children.

Little Caiden and Bria just loved decorating the Aussie outdoor Christmas tree with simple white stars, and mum and dad were allowed to help - after all, Christmas is a time for togetherness and family memories!

Mixing family photos with Christmas photos sure made for an entertaining morning. A meaningful family activity that can be shared as part of the yearly Christmas card or gift, but also as a fun time for Caiden and Bria to look back on in the years to come.
