Autumn Family Photos in the Hawkesbury

Getting the extended family together for a photoshoot is always going to be a little chaotic. But isn’t that just family life in general? But if you look carefully, you’ll see that so much beauty lies in the chaos!

Autumn in the Hawkesbury is a beautiful backdrop for your family photos, with beautiful soft light and amazing autumn colours that lend themselves to a natural outfit colour scheme.

This session really sung of that beautiful phase of life where this couple have raised their children, who are now out in the world on their own adventures, flourishing in marriage and raising their own little humans. The grandparents are now able to relax into a different kind of ‘busy-but-beautiful’ season.

The Hawkesbury has lots of great Autumn family photo shoot locations.

If you’re looking for the best spots for Autumn family photos, the Hawkesbury definitely doesn’t disappoint.

In this session, we were able to tell the story of the family as a whole, as well as all the important members of that family. Group shots, individual families and grandparents with the kiddos, as well as each child on their own. In big families, everything can feel like a group event, but each grandchild got their own moment to be the star and have their portrait taken.

In an age where we can take almost unlimited photos every hour of every day, a stand alone photo like this is actually more important and more of a statement. It’s easy to lose track of our kids as they grow, as they leap from stage to stage. I love photos like this that really celebrating the age and stage they are in, their characteristics, facial expressions. The little pieces of them that will change as they grow but for right now, are fully and completely ‘them’.

In the planning session, we’ll go over every detail, any concerns you have and what kind of photos you want to make sure we capture. When I sat down in Mary Anne, she expressed concerns about it not looking picture perfect like she sees in other peoples photos, but also that she loves the spontaneity and ‘craziness’ of her family. We discussed and coordinated outfits, talked about having some food and snacks to keep the little ones happy, and lots of other details. Mary Anne also shared that when the grandkids come over, it’s always messy play at Grandma’s house. So we incorporated a fun, and a little bit of a messy picnic to both refuel the kids and get some great, natural shots that tell the story of this family. Picture perfect is nice, but real authentic memories of you pouring out love on your kids and grandkids cannot be beaten.

If you’d love to celebrate your family with some fun and beautiful photos, let’s chat. Together, we’ll plan something perfect for YOUR family and create something special as a legacy for your loved ones.
