Creating Childhood Stories for your Family
This is my SIXTH photoshoot with the beautiful Buchanan family. The first was when Grace was born, then Nora came along and we’ve been photographing their growing family ever since. I feel like Aunty Janelle when they take me by the hand and excitedly show me around their favourite places - this time it was the Canberra Arboretum.
With so many areas to explore, we were able to create so many fun moments. The girls were able to run, play, climb and enjoy themselves, resulting in genuine expressions - a true reflection of their personalities at this time in their life.
To be a child is to adventure and explore. There’s nothing more magical that capturing that spirit of curiousity and enjoyment. It’s such a joy to witness Grace and Nora as they explore their surroundings, and I am sure they will relish looking back on these priceless days when they are grown.
With busy work and school schedules, any family knows it’s hard to get quality time in sometimes. I love how intentional the Buchanan family are in creating the time, planning these days together, and capturing them to look back on. By investing in regular family photos, they have created a visual story of their daughter’s childhood - what a legacy gift! The girls love to tell me about the volumes of photos books their mum creates for each of them. For me, it is such a privilege to watch your kids grow and to celebrate them in each season as they become themselves.
To tell the story of your kids’ childhood, let’s chat and we can have some fun planning something special for them!
