Things to do in the Hawkesbury this Autumn

Hawkesbury-Autumn-9-fb.jpg

As Autumn approaches, the colours of the turning leaves fill the Hawkesbury. The outdoors becomes spotted with pops of red, orange, yellow and brown and the unmistakable sound of leaves crunching underfoot. With the abundance of natural beauty comes many opportunities to head out and find fun things to do with your family. Whether it’s a day out on the weekend, or ideas to fill the Easter school holidays, these activities are bound to entertain the whole family. Here are my top tips of things to do in the Hawkesbury this Autumn.

Hike or Bushwalk

The Hawkesbury is home to many beautiful places to stretch your legs. From short walks in Kurrajong to suit the littlies to longer family hikes around Bowen Mountain or Yarramundi, there’s no end of options to explore and sites to see.

Kayaking or Hire Boats

However you like to enjoy the water best, the Hawkesbury is home to many beautiful riverside locations. Our family has just taken up kayaking and we just love it! It gets us out of the house and spending time together doing something that's both active and relaxing at the same time. Or you can stay even longer on the river and hire a boat overnight. No boat licence necessary.
