Family Photos ‘In The Moment’

Being a parent can be synonymous with ‘rush’. There’s always a million things to do and organise and be to all the people in your life. As a mum, family life often hinges on your decision making, your planning and skills at comforting, cooking and cleaning. You’re central to so many things, but can often miss out on being in photos or videos because you’re the one capturing the memories. That’s one of the greatest gifts of family photos. Images that show the love and value you have for your kids, and that also reflects how much they love and adore you.

I so enjoyed my time photographing the Macfarlane family. Rather than a typical newborn session, Brodie was already a few months old. Old enough that you could see his little personality starting to show, his adoration for his big brother and sister, and his cheerful giggles for mum and dad. The images celebrate the fun and love encompassed in this family. The love between mum and dad. The love they have for their children, Kenzie, Kayden and Brodie. The growing bond between siblings, and the love that all the children have for their parents.

No matter WHERE your family photos are taken (in the studio, out in nature, at your home), the scene we’re ultimately setting is one in which you and your family genuinely enjoy having family photos taken and the fun that takes place in that moment! If getting out the door with a newborn is too much to handle, let’s book the session for when they’re a little older. Just relax and soak in the season with your newborn, and afterward we can celebrate the end of the fourth trimester, or whatever their latest milestone is. The best and most treasured images, the ones you want to hang on the wall or gift to family and friends, are the ones where you’re truly being present in the moment, loving on one another and enjoying what makes your family unique.
