Family Christmas Advent Calendar

—- Week 1 —-

It’s December, and no matter how fast this year has gone (crazy fast, right?!), I believe it’s important to be intentional and create some meaningful Christmas memories that can be looked back on in years to come. Our kids are all teenagers now, but we’re still trying to create moments of magic for them - moments they can carry with them as they become adults. So, follow along with me in the leadup to Christmas with some fun activities to bring you all closer together. Snap some photos of your togetherness and enjoy some small moments of magic in the mayhem. Who knows, there might even be some new family traditions in the making.

December 1 : Put up the Christmas tree

The first day of December, and a Sunday as well, is a great time to get out the tree, find all those boxes of tinsel and decorations and let the kids have fun putting their Christmas flair through the house.

December 2 : Design your own wrapping paper

For a personal touch the grandparents are sure to love, and a chance to paint that always wins with the kids, grab the brushes and create some fun, unique paper to wrap up gifts in.

December 3 : Printable Christmas activities

Need a bit of mum time?! Head over to my pinterest board and download and print one of the many Christmas printables- from puzzles to colouring, bingo to word finders, there’s something there for everyone to guarantee a little peace & quiet.

December 4 : Reindeer paddle pop craft

Time to get crafty and make some cute reindeer decorations. You can place them on the tree after, or give them as a gift. Check out the how-to’s on my Pinterest Board.

December 5 : Santa photos

A tradition for many families, the annual Santa pics! If you haven’t already, time to get the kids down to the shopping centre to pay a visit to Father Christmas.

December 6 : Letter to Santa

Yesterday’s trip to the shops may have sparked a few more ideas in your little one’s wishlist, (that, or all the ads on TV). Time to pen a letter to the one who delivers. Did you know that Santa writes back? Check out how here.

December 7 : making christmas ‘Egg in the hole’

Whether you’ve got a lazy Saturday morning planned, or heading out to sports, these egg in the hole will be a hit with the kids and hit the spot.
